Door window floor plan symbols more. The next step as you make your own blueprint is to draw your doors and windows onto the floor plan. Start with a basic floor plan template. This is a simple step by step guideline to help you draw a basic floor plan using smartdraw.

Draw each window as a set of double lines and each door as a single line i e the fully opened door with an arc i e the actual swing path of the door. Incorporate the walls windows and doors into your floor plan. Input your dimensions to scale your walls meters or feet. Easily add new walls doors and windows.

For each door window or wall opening on your floor plan. In our last tutorial we used a pdf floor plan of a small house to create a simple three dimensional model of the walls with openings for the doors and windows in sketchup. Note whether the door opens into or out of the room and indicate the direction with an arc on your rough floor plan sketch. And in a previous tutorial we had created a 2d floor plan with symbols for windows and doors.

Also measure the distances of all openings doors and open archways from the ends of the walls so that you can accurately locate these openings on your final plan. Use your scale to locate its position. Choose an area or building to design or document. Draw the appropriate door or window symbol from the blueprints symbols glossary to properly identify it.
